Stress Busting Your Marriage

Marriage Stress Busters

  • Slow down – identify things that you could ‘drop’ that cause time pressure
  • Take time to communicate with each other
  • Remember everything works together for good to those who love God
  • Enjoy time on your own as a couple, find an activity you both enjoy and have fun together
  • Solve problems together rather than trying to tackle them on your own
  • Sex, a healthy love life in your marriage will reduce stress
  • Budget – set a budget and live within your means
  • Understand that change takes time don’t set unrealistic goals.
  • Sleep, you need at least 7+ hours to function well
  • Try to identify the things that are the greatest sources of stress, once you know the triggers work out coping strategies for each one. (E.g. If loosing the keys causes an argument establish a place they can always be found).
  • Everyday spend time together praying and reading the Bible.
  • Resolve conflict quickly
  •  Sow the right seed. Rather than saying “I can’t cope” you can declare the word of God “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”
